Reduce your risk of dementia

17 Jul

I have been blogging a lot about dementia. So it seems a good time to review the three steps you can take to reduce your risk.

1. Exercise. Regular vigorous exercise not only reduces your risk of vascular dementia, it appears to boost cognitive functioning in general.

2. Diet. A plant based diet will substantially reduce your risk of vascular dementia.

3. Cognitive engagement. Serious cognitive engagement is correlated with reduced dementia risk. The best form of cognitive engagement is to take on challenging learning tasks such as studying a foreign language.
