“Research integrity is on trial”

4 May

A disturbing piece in Euroscientist:

“Some estimate that 1-2% of papers contain fabricated data.”

This strengthens the case for becoming critical consumers of research literature. Whenever possible one should try to read the original research report (often available online) and consider if the results are consistent with other findings. Be especially skeptical of findings that are hyped in the media by uncritical journalists.
