Levels of stress and learning

Educational psychologists write about debilitating anxiety and facilitative anxiety. Too much anxiety is bad because it interferes with performance. For example, if your anxiety about an exam is paralyzing and prevents you from studying.

On the other hand, a low level of anxiety could also keep you from studying. Anxiety at a facilitative level can be a motivator.
